Business Session

John Baize, Baize & Associates, will again review supply and demand factors impacting the US vegetable oil industry during the Monday business session on May 5.

In addition, NCPA is pleased to welcome Dr. Dermot Hayes, professor of economics & finance at Iowa State University. Dr. Hayes has done extensive research on the economic impact of DDG's and will discuss their impact on U.S. grain, oilseed and livestock markets. His presentation will start with a description of the ethanol industry and where it is likely to evolve in terms of DDG production. In addition, Dr. Hayes will discuss the new Energy Act and the incentives it creates to sell wet DDG's as well as show Iowa State's DDG price and volume projections and explain how transportation costs will influence where and how the product will be used.

Also invited to speak at the Association's Monday morning business session is National Cotton Council Chairman Larry McClendon, who will give an update on Council activities.

A continental breakfast will be available to attendees at 7:30 am and the business session will begin promptly at 8:30 am.
